Institutional Statement: Commitment to Dialogue and the Continuity of Strong Trade Relations Between Brazil and the United States
In recent days, we have been closely monitoring the developments surrounding the current trade dispute between Brazil and the United States, which led to the imposition of new tariffs on Brazilian exports to the U.S., including products directly tied to the forest-based sector in which Global Prime operates. While we understand that trade tensions are part of the global landscape, we firmly believe that the long-standing relationship of trust, partnership, and mutual respect between Brazil and the United States will continue to be the foundation for a balanced and constructive solution. These two nations share decades of cooperation, rooted in common interests, democratic values, and strong commercial ties.
At Global Prime, we reaffirm our institutional commitment to dialogue, responsibility, and transparency. We remain alert, active, and engaged in initiatives that foster understanding and collaboration between authorities from both countries. Our CEO, Leonardo De Zorzi, recently took part in a key institutional meeting with the Governor of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Mr. Eduardo Leite, alongside other representatives from the productive sector. The meeting aimed to address the concrete impacts of the new tariffs and explore solutions to safeguard the competitiveness of Brazilian exports, ensure legal certainty, and protect the thousands of jobs supported by our industry.
We will continue to work in partnership with trade associations, government officials, and international stakeholders to ensure that our sector remains a driver of value, employment, and sustainable development, both for Brazil and the United States.
We believe in the power of diplomacy and constructive dialogue. Above all, we believe that strong trade relations are built on mutual trust, ethical conduct, and a shared commitment to long-term prosperity.
Global Prime — committed to excellence, to our industry, and to the future.
